The
IIMUN Cbe Chapter 2016, was just around the corner. I was assigned, a
reporter in the International Press, however I was also guiding the
juniors, because it was their first time. Running around and getting
them together and screaming to silence everyone was a task.
A
group of 16 enthusiastic 7th graders from our school,
assembled in the seminar hall, in a bid to thoroughly prepare
themselves for the same, with the trust, guidance and support, from
us, the DP-1 heads. They were put in the UNEP (United Nations
Environmental Program) committee , that held the agenda – Global
warming. I was asked to give a briefing session to two students on
what the IIMUN is all about and what the research incorporates.
Next,
some of the DP-1 students showed to all the junior participants , how
a committee session actually happens to give them an overall idea.
Much to my surprise, I found myself giving the audience a taste of
humour, just so they do not get bored already. The session included
the Rules Of Procedure, General Speakers' List, moderated and
unmoderated caucuses, points of order/information/personal
privelege/parliamentary inquiry. There was a question session, where
their doubt were clarified by us.
The
students did get a clear picture of how to go about ,at the IIMUN.
