Pre-reflection:
Post-reflection:
During
the preparatory part of the process, we learned to be open minded;
accept different view points and become balanced; once decided upon
the menu, we had to look at how we must equally look at the quantity
and quality of the food, what parents will prefer, what children will
prefer, keep appropriate alternatives and so on. We acquired creative
and innovative skills when it came to making the posters/banners and
dish descriptions in the menu, also, we got to experience how buying
and selling actually goes about.
We
learnt to keep a good relationship with our guests (be polite) and be
patient when anything was not going the way we wanted it to because
later we knew there was a bright side to it.
Now
my reflexes have become better since service happened for a
continuous couple of hours; Time of reaction had to be pretty quick
as the orders kept coming in a row.
On
an ending note I would like to say that our supervisors who kept
encouraging us, were very supportive. They mentioned that 'For you
students this was the first time for putting up a food stall and for
this first time, it was a great job!' At the end of the day, we were
happy we achieved something (compliments plus a profit of 25k!). This
was a fruitful step that taught me all of the above and boosted my
confidence to take up further projects like this.
I
know, we all know that together we can take this to new heights.
