Reflection 15:

Being the senior most of our school, it was truly an honor to carry forward this tradition of respecting an spreading the awe-inspiring achievements of the toppers of the passing out batch. Our teamwork and coordination has become better.
I was very happy to do the MC in both Hindi and English together, in front of a huge audience! My hindi board exam is coming up and this opportunity definately helped with my reading practice. Also, my confidence has improved.
Nishanth's speech inspired us all to continue discovering our potential, work harder to achieve our goals and enjoy the journey!

Journal 15.2:

Asian topper Nishanth, from our school, who scored a full 45, along with Mithin, who scored 44, entered the field. The crowd started applauding and escort duties began. I, along with two other friends and two juniors, were given the opportunity to host the ceremony! We were supposed to speak in both English and Hindi. I welcomed everybody and then we joined the rest of our crew. Meanwhile, a teacher did the hosting. As we saluted them, we saw how proud they felt. Their parents felt prouder and we only got inspired. Nishanth was made to stand next to the flag. We performed the march past around the track and saluted him for his remarkable achievement, as we crossed the flag. We completed the march past, almost professionally, with white gloves. The drumming for the march was by the Micheal Job school band. Post this, the three of us went back to continue hosting the ceremony. Our coaches and teachers thought we did a great job!

Journal 15.1:

Our coordination improved after several rounds of practice on the track, after which Rolf sir finalised our positions in files for the march The boys' set was behind the girls'. There was an alloted team leader in each group who would give the commands. When they said “IB DP Year 2 girls/boys, by the left, forward march!”, we began marching. We all shouted “left, right, left” in sync, for better coordination. Sir told us what we will be doing as the guests are escorted and positioned us accordingly.

Journal 15.0: March past

For the previous year's Republic day, we did the 'sports drill' whilst this time it is 'March past'.
Rolf sir took us onto the track and arranged us in three rows to begin practice. It was a while since most of us had done this kind of an activity in baking heat and so we got tired soon. However, we practiced for two hours along with a break. It is going to be the first time marching on Republic day in front of a huge crowd so it had to be well coordinated.

Journal 8.4: Best pop songs 2016

For the brand new year, we decided to dance on a different and interesting song. We couldn't find just one so we looked up Rajiv Dhall's 'Best pop songs 2016', that was apparently 'trending'. It contained the right mix of most of our mutually favorite songs and so we chose it without a second thought. Our choreography included a bit of some of the main western dance styles - hip hop, break, contemporary, freestyle. We definitely watched a few videos to get an idea of how to blend our steps together and add in a few moves.
We took time for this because it was different from our previous dances and learning the flow from one song to the other in the mash up with proper synchronisation also added on. Also, we tried new ways of recording and editing. This was the first time I edited the video of our dance and surprisingly, after experimenting with the software, it turned out to be pretty decent.
