Journal 7.0: Dived in after long

Asthma attacks began to traumatize me right from the young age of 5. Sometime later, I learned that swimming is thought to cure that problem, however I wasn't too interested back then. Now, I love to learn every possible skill pertaining to swimming, also because I wanted to grow taller and improve on my fitness level and so I started swimming at school, with the guidance of Mr.Manikandhan, the swimming coach.

Today we began with the basics: holding the breath underwater, freestyle and freestyle with holding of the breath. But before that we warmed ourselves up.

Initially, I couldn't hold my breath for longer than 15 seconds. Gradually it went up to 40! It was a light and refreshing feeling, almost erasing any stressful thought in my mind. It increases our lung capacity and makes us swim faster since we don't waste time in taking side breaths.

Mani sir assisted us on how to retain breath and maintain the same style throughout the lap.
With the swimming cap and goggles, it seemed professional. Plus, Mr.Mani bestowed a lot of encouragement.

After swimming I got tired and hungry, however, my mind had cleared.
