Journal 8.1: Pinga choreography

Our next song to dance on was titled 'Pinga', which is a super peppy, Bollywood number. The choreography part was quite a challenge out here, since we needed to know how the Lavani dance style is done and so we looked up some tutorials on YouTube to get an idea.

Lavani is a combination of traditional song and dance, which is performed to the beats of Dholki, a percussion instrument. Pinga is based a Maharastrian folk song.
The initial 40 seconds was a cakewalk to choreograph. Later, when the faster beats came, it took extra time to think of steps to add. After a month of choreographing, we began the synchronization part of it followed by sharpening each step.

Journal 8.0: Manwa laage

Dance has always been on the top list of my favourites. CAS in the IBDP programme gave me an ideal oppurtunity to explore myself in the field of dance.
My friend and I have started a YouTube page to upload our dance videos, after practicing and then shooting it.
We started off with this song called 'Manwa Laage',as we know Bollywood songs are more in demand. These two famous dancers – 'Manpreet and Naina', who have a YouTube page as well, have inspired us from the very beginning.
It took almost 15 rehearsals to get the best one. In the meantime, we learned time management, coordination and sharpening of the moves.
We jumped about when we saw that our channel received 305 views, 21 subscribers and 14 likes.

Journal 5.3:

Today, I took my water bottle to sir's cabin and watered my plant, looking for any sign of dryness. My plant looked fresh, however it needed some direct sunlight. Hence, I took the pot out and kept in on the side of our bridge. Two hours later, I placed the plant back in sir's cabin.

Today I used the swimming board and feet flappers to practice particular skills, to improve on my overall swimming technique.
The required arm rotation and leg beats were focused on. The method to take side breaths while doing the leg beats were practiced.
It was only the two of us, so our coach can carefully look at every flaw (if seen) and correct us.
Two types of leg beats done were: forward and sideways.
This time I held my breadth for longer than 45 seconds. Our coach explained to us about some famous swimmers, especially Michael Phelps, the only swimmer to win 8 gold medals!
He also shared with us his story of swimming.
